(Adoimagazine.com) - At last Thursday's AGM for the International Advertising Association (IAA) Malaysia Chapter, a new Exco was voted in for the coming year:
President: Mr John D Chacko (CEO & MD - LeapED, a Khazanah company)
Vice President: Ms Janet Lee (Director - 95%, The Advertising Academy)
Hon Secretary: Mr Peter Pek (Executive Chairman - Mercatus+)
Hon Treasurer: Mr Collier Yong (Group MD - The Hot Shoe Show & Company)
Chairman, Membership: Mr VK Sailendra (Executive Director - MagiqADs, RedBerry Retail)
Chairman, PR: Mr Peter De Kretser (COO - GO Communications)
Chairman, Education: Mr Bharat Avalani (Regional IBC Director, Unilever)
Outgoing President Harmandar Singh, who was subsequently appointed Honorary Advisor to IAA Malaysia, announced, "We have crossed our target of 50 members and the total now stands at 55. IAA Malaysia was also co-branded with significant industry events like the Malaysian CMO Conference, Chindia Rising, Best of Global Digital Marketing series and the Dragons of Asia Promotion Marketing Awards over the last two years. IAA Malaysia also hosted two Social Nights for the industry, the last one being the End of the World party on 12.12.12 at Mezze Bistro in Medan Damansara attended by 120 industry professionals."
"We also gave our all, with the diligent support of our Secretariat Macomm Management, to bid for the IAA World Congress but in the end it was not to be. The new ExCo is a true collective of great minds and leaders who will shine for the continued success of IAA Malaysia."
Incoming President John Chacko (picture) added, "I thank the previous ExCo for their impressive efforts in elevating the branding, stature and financial health of the Chapter. I also want to record our thanks to the 4As and MAA who have been instrumental in our current well-being. From hereon, I see steady growth in terms of membership and industry initiatives with this new team in place. Moving forward, one area that will probably see exponential growth is the Young Professionals category driven by Chris Wee of SAYS.com."
The International Advertising Association, headquartered in New York, has a network of over 4,000 Members with 56 Chapters across 76 Countries.
