Ad legend and internationally acclaimed film director Yasmin Ahmad collapsed today during a presentation at TV3 in Seri Pentas. She was rushed to Intensive Care Unit of the Damansara Specialist Hospital. Doctors managed to revive her and it was learnt that Yasmin suffered a stroke.

Neurosurgeons are currently attending to her case, which involves a blood clot in the brain. She will undergo surgery before the doctors can read the situation further.

Yasmin is revered by the ad industry not only in Malaysia but also across the globe. In recent years, she also made a name for herself as an award-winning film director.

We at ADOI pray for her speedy recovery. Moments like these remind us of Yasmin's reflections on her blog where she wrote.

"I am optimistic and sentimental to the point of being annoying, especially to people who think that being cynical and cold is cool. Everyday, I thank Allah for everyday things like the ability to breathe, the ability to love, the ability to laugh, and the ability to eat and drink."
