The Furniture is alive!

Imagine furniture so beautiful you would want to build your whole house around it. For more than a decade, Home Treasures located in Mid Valley Megamall has provided beautiful handcrafted teak furniture, accessories and collectibles, to discerning customers. As leaders in quality and design, they pride themselves on customer satisfaction – their teak furniture is highly acclaimed by their buyers, all around the world. Walk-in customers comprise of about 70% local homeowners aged 35 and above and 30% expatriates, tourists and others. They have also received orders for commercial projects such as spas, condominiums, resorts and hotels.

The staff at Home Treasures has a design background and is able to assist customers with basic design needs, particularly in customising their furniture. In most cases, their customers choose to customise, to have their specific needs met or simply have an idea but are unable to find it in a ready piece. Home Treasures looks to aid their customer satisfaction with their unique made-to-order design service.
The selection of products comes from a deep appreciation of nature, history, and the talents of craftspeople – as they imagine that many of their clientele feel the same. They are also environmentally conscious, and do their best to keep things simple and to do things that promote environmental sustainability. The core range, designed exclusively by Home Treasures, is made from solid grade-A plantation or reclaimed teak wood. Ranging from outdoor furniture to pieces for the living, dining and bedrooms, these pieces are made to be beautiful for generation upon generation, adding to their timeless approach of well designed furniture.
Definitely a worthwhile pursuit for any homeowner about to engage in parental stature. But is this all we can really associate with the Rustic appeal of the said furniture? Or does furniture really only go so far as to say this is a style we are selling. Perhaps a comparison, and an alternative would aid in this discourse. Now with the case of XZQT, it is only justified that we are pitting one brand against the next. In terms of statute and decree, perhaps they can hold their own against the mighty, handcrafted style that is of the Home Treasures variety.
XZQT Home Store Malaysia is a branch of XZQT – The Executive Home Store of Singapore, a renowned home furniture and lifestyle retailer store, established in Singapore since 1996. XZQT Home Store made its presence in One Utama Shopping Mall, right under Home Treasures first outlet, not in style but in location. On November 2005, it came to occupy a space of close to 6000 sq feet displaying an exclusive range of fine Italian and European furniture and lifestyle accessories.
XZQT, the established Italian furniture and lifestyle retailer is the exclusive distributor for many reputable brands, which include Calligaris, Bonaldo, Pescarollo, Musterring, Softline and Glas. XZQT takes pride in offering a wide selection of contemporary, exquisite furniture and furnishing accessories at affordable prices. At a glance I couldn’t really pick one over the other in terms of anything sustainable, however if you are asking me based on preference, then that would be another discussion. When it comes down to selecting a design sense for your furniture, the truth of the matter is that furniture is not just a fashion statement, but a lifestyle choice as well. Being the up and coming go-getter that I am I would sway toward the more progressive of the two design forms, but you should not be deterred by my partiality.
XZQT reminds me of a time when post modern was considered hip and Rustic associated with the fuddy duddies, the older folk.  Furniture then would be a case of extended identity. Like the man who purchases a Porche instead of a Ferrari, the woman who chooses a dress cut off at the knees over a long flowing gown, it says something about the extensions to a personality, and not just what age you are.

Whoever you are or whatever you do, I guess it boils down to creating an environment for yourself or for the family. Maybe it says something about where you are now as a human being or maybe we shouldn’t think too hard about which set of drawers go best in your bedroom, or what color your coffee table should be. Comparison aside, the decision is probably more obvious, to a buyer, than I would like to think. If you are sold on executive style don’t insist on XZQT just yet, if you notice I did have a little bias. However I do believe XZQT’s homepride magazine uses the word Rustic somewhere in their kitchen write up. Point in thought, and to be fair, when it comes to teak and hand crafted Rustic furniture, Home Treasures is the way to go.
